Erste FAH2 Betaversion für OSX verfügbar!

Adam L Beberg hat nun tatsächlich die erste FAH2 Betaversion für OSX ins Netz gestellt:

Da fällt mir ein, daß wir auch noch ein paar MACs rumstehen haben...

Sieht so aus, als wäre es besser, erst mal die Finger von dieser Beta-Version zu lassen. Heute wurde im FAH-Forum bekannt, daß bei einigen Leuten (und zwar anscheinend bei allen, die sich bislang zu Wort gemeldet haben), Endlosschleifen auftreten, mehrere core_65.exe-Dateien parallel starten und vor allem irgendwann Ergebnisdateien von ca. 100 MB Größe den Rechner Richtung Stanford verlassen möchten. Auch sollen die MACs dann ganz gerne mal einen fatalen Systemabsturz erleiden.
Adam Beberg arbeitet bereits an den Verbesserungen.

The GUI beta will not run after the 28th, it will simply exit. If all goes
well, we'll do a real release before then.

Die OS X Beta?? Du meinst FAH v2.19(b) für Windoof, oder? Im letzteren Fall: in der Tat - die neue Beta hat noch immer Probleme mit der WU-Abgabe. Aber nur bei "einigen" Leuten. Ich wüßte gerne, was die gemeinsam haben...

Witzigerweise habe ich ja bei DF keinerlei Probleme habe ... mometan läuft das sowieso verstärkt DF, aber ich hoffe, daß bald für F@H ein gescheiter Client ( bzw eine gescheite Version des Clients) rauskommt ... optimal wäre es natürlich dann wieder zum Montag !

Aha! Kürzlich wurde im Stanford-Forum bekanntgegeben, daß die Probleme der OSX Betaversion in erster Linie darauf zurückzuführen waren, daß wohl die Serversoftware nicht mit den von OSX Clients geschickten Daten zurechtkam. Das Problem soll jetzt behoben worden sein und es mehren sich im Forum auch die Aussagen, daß die Leute in der Tat anständig Ergebnisse mit MACs erzeugen können (auch wenn der OSX Client deutlich langsamer arbeitet als der für PCs).
