Millionen von Strukturen - also einige 1000 "file sets". Das ist echt frustrierend. Ich hatte wegen meiner ungerechtfertigten Meckereien im DF Forum beschlossen, einige Millionen Strukturen "strafzufalten" und mußte dann feststellen, daß ich sie kaum hochgeladen bekomme. Jetzt sitze ich hier völlig verärgert und hoffe darauf, sie bis Abschluß des aktuellen Proteins noch irgendwie los zu werden. Bis diese Probleme behoben sind, ist bei DF für mich nun endgültig Schluß.

Ich "wildere" derzeit im FAH/TSC/Lifemapper "Forst".

FTP ist nun wieder möglich - leider genauso lahm wie zuvor auch. Ich sitze hier auf einigen 1000 "file sets", die ich wohl nicht mehr rechtzeitig hochgeladen bekomme. Denke, es ist mal wieder Zeit für einen Einlauf im DF-Forum.

Protein update and back-end changeover
A protein and client update will take place on Tuesday, April 20, at 11:00 am EST. The client update will accomodate the new ticketing system backend that will be put into place during the update. Please make sure to upload your buffered results ahead of time to avoid server backlog.

Zu Deutsch: Proteinwechsel und Clientupdate Dienstagabend (meist so um 23 Uhr ist es durch).

Ich glaub´s ja selber kaum, aber irgendwie habe ich auch die Nase voll.

Ab sofort ist climateprediction angesagt. (Das nannte sich doch in der ewigen Ankündigungsphase Casino21 ???)

heisst das, dass ein großteil der letzen 30, die noch falten auch hinschmeissen? dann sollten wir das alle tun.... nach dem motto "verbraucht weniger energie - schaltet die pc's aus"

Weder noch. Alle aussteigen ja, aber eben nur bei DF. Vielleicht wird´s ja irgendwann noch einmal interessant.

(Wobei ich natürlich nicht weiss was die anderen machen wollen.)

Packages with new features are available on the download page.
Features include argument to specify number of ticket receipt checks, more robust behaviour when running with -ut, and some small bug fixes. For complete details, check whatsnew.txt in the new packages.

Kurz gefasst: Es gibt neue Clients, die man von der Download-Seite bei DF beziehen kann:

Der Client bringt ein paar Bugfixes und neue Features.

- New argument -v[VALUE] allows users to specify the number
of verifications the client should perform on the status
of the local ticket receipt. Allowed range is VALUE=1-10.
This argument does NOT apply to -ut.
- New behaviour for -ut:
* When files are initially uploaded to server, client will
keep retrying if the initial upload fails for some reason.
* Once receipt is obtained, client will keep checking for
status until files are processed or ticket has expired
* Upload will only terminate when successful or when user
presses 'q' to exit
- Fixed small bug that was not properly deleting last
generation files during upload.

- Es gibt einen neuen Parameter -v für VALUE (also Wert). Mittels der Werte 1 bis 10 gibt man die Anzahl der Verifikationen an, die der Client für das "local ticket receipt" während des Uploads durchführen soll.
- Der Client versucht nun einen erneuten Upload, wenn der letzte Upload misslungen ist.
- Wenn das "receipt" heruntergeladen wurde, checkt der Client weiterhin den Status, bis alle Dateien abgearbeitet sind oder das "ticket" abgelaufen ist.
- Der Upload beendet sich nur noch, wenn er erfolgreich war, oder der Benutzer 'q' drückt.
