For comparison: To my knowledge, the Rfam project team needs 5 months for the calibration of Rfam 10.0 using their dedicated HPC cluster. We have completed 50% of that work now within almost 12 days. And please note that we employ only a tiny fraction of RNA Worlds computational power to these calibrations, i.e. only some of the active x64 Linux systems. Moreover, we always use the latest INFERNAL version. From this we can see that RNA World does quite well. And it should be mentioned that, thanks to our dedicated participants (YOU), our compute power increases daily as can be seen on our server status page. I think this is a nice statement - so to say just in time for a hopefully equally nice weekend.
Michael.
