any ideas why my ogr app regularly fades to 3-6% cpu use; load .04. killed dnetc, restart via run_client, 95-100%.; load 1.4+. I hoped that the recent upgrade, cruncher ogr, to 2.12 might solve whatever is going on. problem continues.
could this be a, mostly, vanilla ydl6.1 install screwing with dnetc? i.e., what are the linux packages that cannot be off for boinc and yoyo apps to run as designed? could this be a faulty ps3? faulty app?
looking for ideas.
also, starting with run_client I see this:

of note: UNRECOGNIZED: suspend_if_no_recent_input. What is that?
my apologies, yoyo, I decided to take current install and set aside and redo the install, hence .save--for testing. I saw no difference so I killed that and returned to initial install, i.e., floating WUs.
thanks.

UNRECOGNIZED means that your old BOINC version does not understand the commands
of a project that uses commands for recent BOINC versions.
Try upgrading your BOINC Version to 6.X

Re: ps3 ogr issue (linux)
I appreciate the response and I was able to confirm your position as I changed a setting from an updated remote boinc manager and the ps3 client spit back the unrecognized.
the problem I now have is which boinc for ps3--recommendation welcome. currently, I am trying the dotsch 6.2xx boinc for ps3. opened another thread in hopes that someone can explain the dual processes.
thanks.

Re: ps3 ogr issue (linux)
I updated boinc with dotsch's port, have two dnetc WUs crunching concurrently, ps3not sure if that is best for the ps3, but it has come in handy. the good news, the UNRECONGIZED errors gone. however, for two days ogr2.12 app worked without a WU fading down to 1-3% cpu usage, but I just discovered another. again, kill it, restart, all is well.
what I found: two WUs crunching, ogr2.12, one WU was crunching normally, the other dead or darn near close. is it the WUs? since it is ps3 and I am not having this problem, yet, on an intel/linux box, I saw it as ogr2.12 for ps3. have no idea now.
I ask that someone with the visibility look into it: contributing the computing time should not also entail a daily check to ensure it works especially when I find more and more it is not.
if there is no fix as this appears to be a ps3 only thing and not many ps3, then say so. NOTE: mentioned because I do not see mention of this, in this forum, regarding intel or amd and I have ongoing test with intel box--no WUs fading for several weeks and it is also linux.
thanks.

Re: ps3 ogr issue (linux)
I've been running some Cruncher OGR Wu's on my PS3 for about 20 Hr's now, there's no % Progression showing so far so I don't know if these Wu's are Progressing or not. Is this normal or am I just wasting time running them. There are 6 running at once also, normal or not ???
Don't ask me to check anything with the YDL System, I know absolutely nothing about it and have no way of getting i8nto anything in or on the System. I'm a little used to Ubuntu on my Regular Computers but YDL is totally foreign to me & I know nothing about it other than somehow I got BOINC to run on it a few years back. It's v5.10.6 so it's a old version of BOINC & probably needs to be Updated but I'm not sure I'm capable of Updating it really but may give it a try when I get some time. If the same Update commands that work for Ubuntu work for YDL I may be able to do it.
Right now I need to figure how to even get into the Terminal as I see no Panels that show any of the Acceories or Features I could use in YDL ...
