dnetc @ ~6% cpu

I am new to the project and wonder what to do with a WU crunching at ~6%cpu on a ps3/ydl6.1. if I stop/start run_client, the process will for ~2mins crunch at the expected near 100%, but then drops and stays.

what do I do with this and apologies if answered elsewhere.


also, I asked this somewhere else, but asking again: is it possible with this project to download a store of WUs? I set boinc at 5days and after 2 days still have just 1 WU--the active WU.

it finished, but still questions about the low cpu usage. NOTE: as a noob trying to establish a baseline of operation, what should I expect from this project, it is understood cpu usage is easily contaminated by other tasks. the machine does nothing else during this noob phase.

the cpu time, as indicated by the completed stats, was ~.25 of wall clock time.

My PS3 knowledge is close to zero, so this is just a guess :

BOINC might only "see" the CPU time from the PPE core but dnetc draws most power from the SPEs.

But the granted credits show, that Yoyo (having fixed credits) "pays" for all the work done.

thanks for the reply. it does not happen on all WUs. have seen a couple like this, but they finish and apparently are valid for the research which is what matters most.

thought I would post the observation just in case. again, still establishing my project baseline of expectation, i.e., it is not a problem if a WU is crunching or appears to be crunching at 4-6% cpu.
