I agree with the deadline shortening in Euler, as the end is close. Accordingly, the server is resending WU as soon as the deadline is achieved by an user.
It happens that if the late user manages to report his result before the user to whom the WU had been reassigned, the first will get credit for it and the latter will see his work aborted by the server as "redundant work", even if his own deadline is more than 12 hours away.
In the past three days, I had four or five WU's aborted this way. The last WU had more than 90% work done and was just a few minutes from completion (they're taking one hour or so to complete). This means that I got no credit for 50 minutes of crunching in this WU alone.
I believe this is unfair and, more than that, a waste of time and crunching power.
I suggest that if a WU is reassigned to a third or fourth host and these ones return their work before their own deadlines, they should get credit for it. The server abortion of the task should only take place after the second deadline is achieved without report.
