Wäre doch was, wenn die "User of the Day" bei Predictor zum Boykott aufrufen.

I'm a volunteer forum moderator for Docking@Home and have been
trying to gather info on an issue that has spilled over from another
project into our forum. Is there an official statement somewhere with
regard to the user who allegedly used a Trojan horse distributed via P2P
networks to install BOINC. I'm finding lots of info in various forums,
but haven't found anything official, unless the post by a forum
moderator at CPDN counts (CPDN forum thread id=5314). The posts say it
was recently discovered (February 2007 IIRC) when someone whose computer
was infected contacted some Italian BOINC volunteers for help.
Apparently, a big argument has developed between another projects
moderator and some volunteers at that project. Many of the volunteers
names I recognize from various alpha and beta projects as being very
involved in BOINC and being level headed. Unfortunately, it seems to
have gotten very messy with a lot of people allegedly being banned from
that projects forums and has now spilled over into a bunch of other
project and team forums, including the BOINC forum (thread id=1571) and
our D@H forum..
I've been trying to gather info for Andre on this to help decide
what to do about it in our forum. Since several projects are alleged to
have canceled the users credits, I was hoping to get some info here or
at least get the project managers sharing info about this with each
other. Hopefully, Andre won't shoot me for asking this here. I've tried
not to name the other project where the argument has occurred but, if my
asking upsets anyone, I'm asking entirely on my own and the group at
UTEP shouldn't be blamed.
BTW, it might be a good idea if the BOINC server permanently stored
the date/time and IP address where the account was first created.
Regards,

yoyoHello David,
I first got to know about Wate from David Anderson. He forwarded the
original email from the Italian BOINC user who discovered the trojan
installation to the project admins who were affected (apparently, not to
all, because "the project with issues" claimed that they needed official
information), and as soon as I received the information, I blocked Wate's
account, removed his credits, and posted the frontpage news, because I had
to remove more credits than PrimeGrid can accumulate in a week. The
information was accepted by the community without any bigger issue (see
http://www.primegrid.com/orig/forum_thr ... owrap=true).
