TeamFounder Transfer Problem

#1 Ungelesener Beitrag von yoyo » 09.07.2008 19:05

Mal was aus der boinc_dev Mailingliste:
And the 'team ownership transfer' strikes back... Here we have the first
(I'd say major) BOINC-wide case:
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum ... hp?id=4234 and
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum ... hp?id=4238

Long story short:
A bunch of crunchers decided to join and build a new team. They looked
around the projects for (apparently) inactive (understand: possibly
dead) teams with some nice credit portfolio, took over their
foundership, ditched former members and renamed the teams to Space
Family. The inherited amount of credits was somewhere in the range 25-30
mil.

IMO one of the reasons it could happen (and it might not in some cases)
was that the notification was deliberately set to OFF for ALL BOINC
users (which projects applied that one (no idea which) server patch. I
think that such request should be reported to the founder regardless of
his notification preference. And possibly a kick-off of any team member
to the member too.

Das man mir das Team abluchsen will, ist nix Neues...
Zum Glück hat man genug Zeit zum Ablehnen....
