Perhaps one if the two tcp-stacks uses a hack/setting/optimisation that the other one doesn't understand, or there's a problem between the two hosts (perhaps your router?). Just guessing, though.
Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.
The fact is that I upload tons of RNA results with no problems at all.
If, and only if, the upload happens to break for whatever reason, then it can
never be resumed. So I'm pretty sure the problem is just there, in the resuming activity.
BTW: could anyone try it? Disconnect throughout an upload, then reconnect and try to resume.
However only RNA shows this odd behaviour: no other boinc projects I'm involved in do. So I guess it's more likely to be a RNA server "misconfiguration". Which shouldn't be too hard to investigate, I hope.
I say: it's not about me. We're not talking about credits, or rather silly stuff. We're talking about
results: we leave our pc running 100% load to get such results, and electricity isn't free. The project itself exists to get these results. I'm a bit disappointed, to be honest.
Bye.
