Grrrr :bad-words: Cmcalibrate are quite tough !
I was doing this WU: http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/workuni ... uid=506222
And finally it went into error ! (As a lot of people)
Don't really know why...
But even if this WU failed, I'm still crunching it !! :o I doesn't see it on BOINC manager, but with the command "top", this one take 1 core of my dual. And then...I got 2 cmsearch on 1 core :o :o (As BOINC don't see I'm still crunching the calibrate one)
So...3 tasks for a dualcore..Not bad

What should I do ? Kill the task ? As I guess boinc will not report it.... :crying:

Thank you

PS: here is my computer: http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/show_ho ... ostid=1764

The server seems to have stopped giving out cmcalibrate tasks. For the last 14 hours, my Linux x64 box has been receiving the following message on work requests.

RNA World 8-2-2010 11:14:05 AM Message from server: No work sent
RNA World 8-2-2010 11:14:05 AM Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the web site.

I only have cmcalibrate selected on the profile for that machine. The server status page was showing 2,268 cmcalibrate tasks unsent when this started and is now showing 2,269 tasks unsent so it would seem that no cmcalibrate tasks have been assigned for the last 14 hours.

How much RAM does your machine have and how much HD space have you allocated to BOINC and to RNA World?

This machine is running as a daemon, no X.org (CLI only). Just checked top and the RAM usage is at about 40 - 45 %, with one cmcalbrate using 832MB, another using 23MB, and two WCG tasks using 28MB each.

I still find it strange that not a single cmcalibrate task has been assigned to anyone in the last 15+ hours.

First of all thanks for the information regarding your machine specs which look all OK.
Indeed, this sort of 'blockage' in WU delivery is strange and highly undesired. We will look into it - thanks a lot that you brought this to our attention.

Looks like it stopped again, as the unsent cmc tasks count hasn't changed in hours. Are all of these cmcalibrate supposed to be Linux x64? Here are the current messages on my Linux x64 cmcalibrate only machine.

RNA World 8-4-2010 12:29:39 PM Message from server: No work sent
RNA World 8-4-2010 12:29:39 PM Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the web site.
RNA World 8-4-2010 12:29:39 PM Message from server: (there was work but it was committed to other platforms)

Exactly which platform is that work committed to?

CMC is currently exclusively (and intentionally) handed out to Linux-x64 machines, so I actually do not understand why the server notifies you that "work was committed to other platforms".

There are couple of things which avoids sending cmc wus:
- you must have linux64
- you must have the same processor than your wingman
- you will not get a wu which you already had, you can't be your own wingman

So, the homogeneous redundancy is set to AMD and Intel on cmcalibrate? If so, then I might have a problem getting validation/credit for this workunit (2003726) as I am running an Intel machine and all of the other machines are AMD. So far, my machine (#1734) is the only one to finish.
