My 120-hour-WU consumes about 650MB of RAM. I can get another of theese monsters if you want. I obviously have a machine that the server is still looking for. Should I get one more, or are my 2 GB of RAM potentially to little for 2 old WUs?

I run Ubuntu Linux with a relatively tidy GNOME, so I do net need much RAM myself. And in case of an "emergency", there's always enough swap space.

@yoyo: Did you find the reason for why those old units were not being send out again?
Cause just now I got nine pretty "old" WUs at the same time that seem to have been waiting in the queue since the middle of march for no apparent reason... :3d:

Jup, I found a big bottleneck.
There were ~1000 wus which were assigned to Win32 but had 4gb RAM assignment. This couldn't be handled by win32. I think during fiddling with RAM settings in March I somehow created it. Mean, first result was send to win32 and because these massive ram problems I assigned than 4gb to nearly all.

So Thats what was stopping me from getting work :good:

I reassigned them to win64.

Has RNA put checkpoints into the WU's ? Or do we lose the data if we reboot :worry:

The programmers are working hard to find a way of checkpointing (by the use of a Linux VM if I remember correctly), however the soulution they implemented so far works on Linux OS only. Meaning, if you have any other OS, there are no checkpoints and you'll loose the progress by rebooting your machine.

There is nothing to fix. ;) Just wait a little bit until the server is creating new work units, which will need less memory. The server will create new work units, when there are less than 1,000 ready to send.

Cheers,
