what is the work units sending order ?

#1 Ungelesener Beitrag von cisf » 07.04.2010 19:08

Are the work units sent from top to bottom ? Meaning, are the last generated units sent first ?

I ask because i recive the units in reverse order, and it is annoying when i go to see them in my "tasks", and already crunched units (that got sent before the current running units, so it;s not a "got crunched faster" issue), are on top of "in progress" units.

Also, if so, than there is the risk of units not getting sent in a proper timeline (as i see that the cache never gets below 1000 worunits, and units might get stuck in those) maybe something like this: http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/workuni ... uid=550965

Oldest results are sent first.

If the queue of unsent results gets below 1000 new ones are created.

the workunits in the the "tasks" page are ordered by the task ID, and i wrongly belived is ordered by the WU ID. So upsiiii...

But ! I still don;t like how it is shown, can it be made to be ordered by what the cruncher wants ? In my case i am more comfortabile with a "sent time" order.

one more thing ...

http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/result. ... id=1398210
http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/result. ... id=1398211

both having small ID number (current ones are above 1406703), never got sent. Can this be becouse the 64 bit linux machines (the units were sent to this type of systems) are used for the tuberculosis project ?

if no other work than TB gets sent to the Lin64 machines, the wu;s in the example will never get sent until the tb project gets done, or an intervention' is made.

if this is not the case ... soory for being annoing ... well sorry anyway :D

There are of course other conditions which must be fulfilled by the requesting computer:
- This WU was computed on a Linux system. So the second one must be also a Linux system.
- The host must be allowed to get cmsearch wus.
- The host must have 1.3GB of RAM free.
- The host must have the capability to complete the wu in the deadline.
So it might be the case that there are still older wus in the queue which also have these requirements and therefore are sent first. The first WU in your list is only 2 days old, so stay tuned.

I will check the pipeline in the next days, especially the oldest results, why they are not send.
