So, I hope someone will be able to help me here. BOINC told me today that there is a new version out for my computer. Well, everything with the download went fine, until I tried to start the installation. It said that there was an error reading from the initialization file or something so it wouldn't even start.

Looks like an older boinc installation file is needed but was deleted. Try the windows installer cleanup utility and remove all boinc entries in list. Then try it again.
