In the DC community various teams have evolved over time. They provide a more or less relaxed association of DC participants according to broad criteria (usually on a geographic basis or the main [Projektübersicht/en|project]] which supports the team.

The team members are usually organized in forums. These forums are used to exchange news on individual projects and provide space for discussion on the background of those projects. A whole bunch of teams are busy making DC public to attract more people.

On the statistics portals (German) there are comparisons between the individual DC participants as well as comparisons between the individual teams, in which the points of the individual members are summed up.
