BOINC Workshop 2020

Unfortunately, due to the CORONA pandemic the University has cancelled all conference venues until at least 30th of September 2020, incl. the BOINC 2020 Workshop. We are planning to offer to host the Workshop under otherwise similar conditions in 2021. Details will follow...

General: Rechenkraft.net is proud to be organizing the 2020 BOINC Workshop which is hosted by the Physics Department (AG Astronomie) of the Philipps-University in Marburg, Germany. This annual workshop is designed for researchers, scientists, academics, developers and volunteers with any level of interest in the BOINC open source volunteer computing platform. All are welcome!

Organizer & Host: Rechenkraft.net e.V. is a not for profit organization which was founded in 2004 by volunteer computing enthusiasts of the Rechenkraft.net team (participating since 2001 in distributed computing and since then providing an informative website in German on this topic). We have a lot of computer enthusiasts, hardware tinkerers and even some scientists aboard.

The Philipps-University of Marburg (German: Philipps-Universität Marburg) was founded in 1527 by Philip I, Landgrave of Hesse, which makes it one of Germany's oldest universities and the oldest still operating Protestant university in the world. It is now a public university of the state of Hesse, without religious affiliation. The University of Marburg has about 25,000 students and 7,500 employees and is located in Marburg, a town of 72,000 inhabitants, with university buildings dotted in or around the town centre. About 12 per cent of the students are international, the highest percentage in Hesse.
