Hello, everyone!

I've got a WU which takes about 24,271,334 GFLOPs, a huge WU!

As contrast, ClimatePrediction's WU will takes about 1,151,445 GFLOPs.

But ClimatePrediction gives me 1 year to finish the WU but RNA World gives me less than 1 month!

Why do they set the period so short?

I think I cannot finish the WU before timeout. Should I give up the WU?

Don't abort it. The server auto-extends the deadlines on the server, and you can ignore the local deadline value, so long as your PC communicates every week or so. Make sure it has an internet connection, and let it do its thing.

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for your help.
progress.txt is being updated regularly so far.
How do I know if the task has finished?

Don't be sorry. To be honest, I only just replied!

Take great care of the task. Before shutting down or restarting the PC, I recommend suspending BOINC, waiting until CPU activity stops, then exiting BOINC, then waiting until boinc.exe disappears in Task Manager, then shutting down or restarting the PC.

Regarding completion: The task progress will go up to 98.765%, then stay there indefinitely. Usually, a task is only about halfway done at that point. Let it continue to run until it completes and no-longer shows on your list of BOINC tasks.

Welcome to the club!
If you give me a link to your task, I can try to do some calculations to estimate how long it might take you to complete it.

It is advisable to monitor the RAM consumption, too, when shutting down your machine: First check that CPU consumption goes down after quitting BOINC, then check for the RAM (it also should go down and then remain stable at a low value). This way it is safe to say that the last snapshot has written to disk.
