Scheduler wait: Detection of VM Hypervisor failed.
Re: Scheduler wait: Detection of VM Hypervisor failed.
What about the existing WUs? Do I just abort them?

Yes, they will get reassigned to other users with the new version.

Re: Scheduler wait: Detection of VM Hypervisor failed.
I've got 3 of the "older" VMs, and since they each have a couple thousand hours invested in them, I'm going to continue to run them. Is that okay too?

Okay, thanks. I wanted to make it clear for any user that may be running the older version of the application (which uses the older vboxwrapper): The admins recommend to continue running those tasks, unless they are having a problem. They should only abort if they are having a problem.
Thanks again,
Jacob

Re: Scheduler wait: Detection of VM Hypervisor failed.
Just thought I would report that the VM task now runs on my linux machine: Intron task
Almost 2 hours of runtime so far. Running boinc client 7.2.42, Virtualbox ver. 4.3.12 r93733

And it appears the task has finished successfully after 4,153 hours of CPU time. Now it just needs some wingmen.BobCat13 hat geschrieben:Just thought I would report that the VM task now runs on my linux machine: Intron task

Nearly 25 weeks, thats about half a year!BobCat13 hat geschrieben: And it appears the task has finished successfully after 4,153 hours of CPU time.
Wow!
Re: Scheduler wait: Detection of VM Hypervisor failed.
It is my belief that setting the boinc client's network activity to suspended, except when I was able to monitor the machine closely, allowed the task to finish successfully. The boinc client seems to have problems with any network/internet instability (especially DNS), which can cause tasks to fail prematurely. The only problem I encountered was the failure to delete the old snapshot (4 times), and that is easily fixed with a reboot of the machine.
