Detection of VM Hypervisor Failed on Windows 10
Detection of VM Hypervisor Failed on Windows 10
Greetings. On a Windows 10, Intel Core i7 3930K machine (6 cores, 12 logical) running BOINC 7.6.9 (x64) and VM 5.0.6, which successfully runs two VirtualHC@home VM tasks concurrently, the RNA World task downloaded and then postponed with this message:
Detection of VM Hypervisor failed.
I suspended all BOINC projects, exited BOINC and then restarted it, and then resumed just the RNA World task, but the same error occurred, at the 5 second run time mark. This is the BOINC Event Log from the restart:

Re: Detection of VM Hypervisor Failed on Windows 10
If VirtualLHC is running and RNA World not you can abort the RNA World task. We are using an older vboxwrapper that is not compatible with Windows 10 and/or VBox 5. I have to update the app on the server first before you can retry a new task.
Re: Detection of VM Hypervisor Failed on Windows 10
OK and thanks. I'll abort the current RNA task.
How will I know when to resume fetching RNA tasks that have the new vboxwrapper?

Re: Detection of VM Hypervisor Failed on Windows 10
To clarify:
RNA World is completely compatible with Windows 10. However, their current VirtualBox application uses an old VBoxWrapper, that only runs on VirtualBox 4.3.x, and not on VirtualBox 5.x yet.
So, you can either:
- uninstall VirtualBox 5.x, and install the old VirtualBox 4.3.x to get some work, or
- you can monitor the following webpage until a newer version of the app is released, which will likely include a newer VBoxWrapper that supports VirtualBox 5.x.

Re: Detection of VM Hypervisor Failed on Windows 10
I've installed BOINC (under Windows 10, with VirtualBox) on one of my desktops several times, and am still not getting any VM workunits. Most recently, BOINC 7.6.9 with VirtualBox4.3.12. What do I need to do to start receiving VM workunits?

Re: Detection of VM Hypervisor Failed on Windows 10
This project doesn't have any new work units to send at the moment, per the project's server status page.
http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/server_status.php
It's recommended to additionally join other projects, to keep your devices busy. If you're specifically looking to get a VM task from a project (to test that VM is working), then you might try the VirtualLHC@Home project, which always has VM tasks available, to my knowledge.

Re: Detection of VM Hypervisor Failed on Windows 10
I updated the vboxwrapper to the latest version for all platforms. You can try to get another task and it should use version 1.16 of the cmsearch VM app (which has the new wrapper).
