Is there any way to make the VM hypervisor detectable by the task? Boinc client is running under my login account and when starting VirtualBox Manager that also starts under my login account.

Not sure it will compute to get the failure as it runs for 10 seconds and then changes to Scheduler wait. Here is what is in the stderr.txt file in the slot directory:

Would that be app_config or app_info? I thought app_config only had the ability to control how many instances of an application and how many cores on multi-threaded applications. Isn't app_info how to change the wrapper from the version specified by the server?

That's right. Can you test with this vboxwrapper through app_info.xml? The Main Problem is that our current vboxwrapper for Linux is not fully compatible to VBox 4.3.6. They return an error code when asking for version information now. We also have no confirmation that the vboxwrapper detects the correct version on Linux because it sometimes containes letters.

Here are the contents of the app_info.xml I created. Could you look them over and see if they are correct? No hurry, as a winter storm will start tonight and continue through tomorrow, so I won't be trying to start the task again until the storm has cleared as to avoid any power interruptions.

I'm no expert for app_info.xml but the doc says you should remove the platform tag and I would also remove the flops tag. Other than that it looks right.

Ok, finally got around to trying the task again. The first time using app_info, it just deleted all of the files without even starting the task, so I restored the data directory backup and added <status>1</status> to each of the file_info sections and the task tried to run but still was getting the same status as the Title subject. I then tried to edit the client_state.xml to make it use the newer vboxwrapper version, but it just deleted the task without starting it, so at that point I gave up.

Thanks for trying. The guys over at T4T are running some more linux tests with this new linux wrapper and as soon as they give a green light I will update ours too.

Hello, I recently got assigned some WUs for my virtualbox-enabled Linux x64 host, but I'm having the same issue. vboxmanage -v outputs the following:
4.3.8r92456

The boinc stderr.txt has the following: Is there a way for me to get these WUs to run properly? Thank you.

The bug seems to be fixed and there will be another round of testing here at RNA World at the end of April because there are some more snapshot issues.

I'm having this issue on OS X 10.9
Application version: cmsearch VM 1.0.2 1.10 (vbox64)
VBox version: 4.3.10r93012
Is there anything I can try to get it running?

I released a new vboxwrapper for Mac that should have a fix for this. I will generate more work tomorrow. I can't assign work to specific users so you have to try and get lucky.
