hi, I have three long ones:

http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/result. ... d=14493441
http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/result. ... d=14534085
http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/result. ... d=14397478

the first two have to run for 5 and 2 weeks, the last one for 25 weeks. I think this is a bit long...

I hate to abort them, would be a good idea to shorten those units imho.

Thanks!

About 24 hours ago, it was 105:36:24 elapsed, 383:26:42 remaining.
Now, it's 130:38:17 elapsed, 378:26:03 remaining.

The estimated time remaining goes past the deadline, so could you extend the deadline about a week?

Though with the estimated time remaining dropping only about 5 hours in 24 hours, I wouldn't be surprised if this workunit sets a new record for
running the longest.

Is there any way I can check if this workunit is doing much more than just burning up CPU time?

Extended.
You can see it on the project server but not in your boincmanager.

Both have been running 15 days, one is at 92% and the other at 48%.
Both finished! One after a week of 100% and the other with 6 days to go on the estimate.

could you please extend the deadline of the following units:

http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/workuni ... id=5988879
http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/workuni ... id=5984386
http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/workuni ... id=5963608

There was no reaction on my last post from 28-06. It was my mistake that I didn't explicitly ask for extension, I thought it would be obvious as I posted the units here. Now I have returnred from holiday and they are expired, which is a waste of my processor time. Hopefully you can extend the units above, otherwise I will have to look for antoher project, as I don't want tot riisk weeks of calculation for nothing. Thank you.

This workunit started over last night, so It looks like I'll need about
two extra weeks for another try:

http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/result. ... d=14564885

I've requested and received more time on another workunit earlier.

It looks like I'll need to try a sleep mode not-quite-checkpoint
on both of them in other to turn off my computers while spending
a few days attending a wedding.

Both computers now use a UPS, and are now more likely to be able
to finish the workunits if the recovery from sleep mode works.

One other my last two very long workunits already finished last week. The other appears to have survived the suspend - sleep mode - restart for the wedding trip, and will probably finish in about two more days.

Workunit 6000664 looks like you may need to decide if more users should be allowed to try it, if you want to test whether suspend - sleep - restart works as a partial substitute for checkpoints.

The sleep mode generally works with all RNA World WUs.

This workunit should finish in about an hour.

Once you have one successful completion, you may want to think about whether more copies should be allowed so that all those "Aborted by
user" statuses will not block validation of this workunit, unless you consider one successful completion all you need.
