One of Nitro's tasks has now surpassed 600 days of CPU time, and is still crunching!
This is longer than my previous long-runner-longest-completion of 555.9 days. :smoking:

WU 6330817: https://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/workun ... id=6330817
Task 14954283: https://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/result ... d=14954283

This project still has 38 more tasks out there - CRUNCH THEM WITH CARE!

Thanks,

Thanks folks! :) I still have 2 of these 32 crunching, and hoping to get more, but they are super rare!

My laptop is 15 days into this WU (http://www.rnaworld.de/rnaworld/result. ... d=14954628).

The deadline is November 25 but it has 68 more days (aprox Jan 15 2020).

Will it get credit?

I'm being careful with it.
The laptop is not getting shut down or put to sleep.

Holy cow!
That WU generation date was 30 Nov 2013, 12:59:36 UTC.
6 years of roaming...

The deadline will be auto extended while you are crunching these monsters
While there's no wingman for that task yet to get a great estimate, my guess is it will take about 150-350 days of CPU time to complete.
And yes, so long as the PC communicates with the server, the deadline will auto-extend.
I believe if it loses communication for more than 2 weeks, the server considers it abandoned/aborted.
It's been running on this machine for 15 months now and reports 338+ days of calculation time (BOINC pauses in hot months during high cost electricity hours 2pm-7pm)

It's reported 98.765% completion for over 6 months now. I opened the window to the WU VM and hit 'enter' to make sure the WU isn't frozen; it responded w/ a login prompt. It continues to occupy a full core of CPU usage 18-24 hours a day. This laptop hasn't needed to restart in months. (Well maintained Windows 7 is very stable)

I bought a used desktop w/ 2700x AMD CPU that is to replace this laptop and will have this OS and Data drives migrated to.
I'll have to be exceptionally careful to not have two copies of this BOINC directory attempt to run at once.
The 2700x core should speed this WU up by 50-100%.

I strongly advise you to not attempt an OS/Data migration, if you want the work unit to survive.
