Screensaver starts randomly

I've the problem, that on Windows a graphics windows starting randomly, without pressing the show graphics button. - Not shure, I guess the window would been initalized by the BOINC screensaver. - I never saw a RNA screensaver window, but only the flash graphcis windows.
But on the last batch I got dozens of graphics windows on my system as I looked back after several hours.

This is a known problem. I reported it during the last session of work units to Yoyo in the chat. Once there were more than 20 Adobe Flash Player windows presenting nice pictures of RNA molecules open at the same time - number increasing. Almost all of the memory was used by Adobe Flash Player and the computer was almost froze.

Deleting the Adobe Flash Player will solve this problem - but you will not be able to see a lot of web sites anymore. Namely those using flash.

I've got Flash Player 10.0.42.34 installed on Win7 RC 64bit. With this version of the Flash Player there didn't occur any more problems. But I don't know anymore which version caused the problems on my machine. I only know that it was a 10.0.x version as well.

For the FAQ which I am continuously trying to enhance:
Did you guys deactivate the Windows built-in screensaver pop-up in the system/desktop appearance settings (which after installing BOINC may be set to autonatically activate the BOINC screensaver)?
What Windows versions are you using? I have XP x86, XP x64, Vista Home Premium and with none of these I ever encountered this problem. But it seems it might rather be related to the Flash Player version you have installed.

I am using Vista with Adobe Flash 10. But have not tried to deactivate flash, because I would like it in other programs.

I noticed the same problem on my 2 PCs with Vista 64 bit [quad-CPU 1 Intel Q9300 + 1 AMD Phenom, 4 GB RAM].
When Windows activates BOINC screensaver and RNA project is running, a new Flash graphics window is started per second. After opening approx. 50 these windows, Vista has a problem with responding.
Adobe Flash Player version is 9.0.115.0
I am going to install newer Flash player...

I cannot find the way to disable these endless Flash Player 9 windows. I deleted all named "flash" from my Vista64, using safe mode too. I installed Flash Player version 10 for Firefox [I'm using 64 bit version called Namoroko, so this plugin don't work.] and version 10 for MSIE too. [I don't use MSIE.]
However BOINC screensaver starts tens of Flash Player 9 windows again with RNA project running. I don't understand it.
I don't want to disable BOINC screensaver, because I'm running many other projects.
The only way for me is to stop RNA project on my machines for now.

I mean the flashplayer 9 screensaver is fixed to the project.
the only way is to disable the screensaver at the moment ! ( only energy and cpu-power )
they are working on that problem and try to find a better solution with coders that would have the time and the fun.
I think it could be take a time
what ever.. it´s a very fresh beta-project

No. We do not deliver Flashplayer binaries along with our project. Just the files to be played IF Flashplayer is installed.

Yes, I have one Flash Player window here now... but ...
... black "DOS window" with tasklist.exe is starting and closing again and again immediately next after next...
I thing program uses it to determine if Flash player is running already or not. Could program remember "flash started"? Or what about insert some delay before next tasklist.exe start?
Of course, I don't know how the program works, so I'm writing my small ideas here - they may be stupid or totally out. This project is interesting and maybe 1 % of my talking can help it, who knows...

I created new app versions and hope it is better now:
- tasklist.exe is no more used to determine if play.exe already runs. So the black dos box shouldn't appear anymore.
- Boinc should now also no more start graphics_app every second.
