Michael.
No one in this thread said they did.
Please review the posts more carefully.

I use Virtual Box to run YoYo projects.

Ah, now I get the message.
Well, your question should maybe better be answered in David Anderson's forum? He is the developer of BOINC.

As I stated above, this problem ONLY happens with ecm_wrapper.

It doesn't happen on all the other 20+ projects the machines have run over the last 2 years.

But, they might have an insight into what is happening.

Re: My 1090T is beating my 2700x on ECM... any ideas why?

This issue is still happening on 3 different machines and I only run them on the host server; not inside a VM.
The ECM.exe crashes and doesn't come back.
The wrapper is sitting in RAM doing nothing for days yet BOINC still shows the WU is making progress and nothing is wrong.
You have to check the process manager to see the problem.

This WU was showing in BOINC as progressing to completion for 3+ days yet actually doing nothing.

I suspect this happens when all the running ECM.exe apps expand at the same time to 2.7GB RAM and the machine has no more swap space (I do not want regular swapping on efficient BOINC computers; all RAM usage is preplanned).

Only running 2 WU's and they have 5GB available (I was successfully running 3 last year).
ECM was not supposed to expand beyond 1.9GB.

Normal ECM can grow up to 4 GB.
You should never disable swap in an operating system.
HILF mit im Rechenkraft-WiKi, dies gibts zu tun.

This change I just discovered in another post 5 minutes ago.
It is too large and there was no warning of the change.

The swap is set to 3GB.
There was no mention of disabling swap.
Where the hell did you get the idea I would disable swap?

So now the question remains: why does your wrapper not terminate the WU with an error code when the heartbeat is lost for 3 straight days?

This is a bad design.

I didn't wrote that you disabled swap I know that some people do it or did it and just state that this shouldn't be done.
