Hi,
I am running Yoyo@Home (the OGR wrapper only). Sometimes there are extremely long delays when opening a Web site from the "Run" menu (regardless of default browser), and freezes when clearing Internet Explorer history & cache, which are apparently caused by frozen "dnetc" processes. Exiting BOINC does not close these processes, they have to be removed from Ctrl-Alt-Del, and then both Firefox and Internet Explorer work fine again. I don't see the connection between Yoyo@Home and the browsers on my computer, but it is going on.
Thanks,
Odd problem caused by frozen dnetc processes

Confirmed. I have posted the same to a dnetc thread in german language.

You think this is a Distributed.net problem instead? I don't speak German, so what are they suggesting?Ananas hat geschrieben:Confirmed. I have posted the same to a dnetc thread in german language.

Re: Odd problem caused by frozen dnetc processes
No solution there yet, sorry, just another confirmation has been posted today.
My solution is to let it run only on boxes that I do not need for going online - but one thing makes me wonder : why is BOINC not affected, even though BOINC does contact the web fairly often.
