Neues Projekt pi(x) table project
Eben eine Mail bekommen:
Dear pi(x)-mailing list members,
The pi(x) computation project, world record holder of the pi(x) computation with the value of pi(4.e22) is stopped. The latest computation pi(10^{23}) revealed a problem in the pix.exe program which has not been solved yet. A difference of 1 exists in the global check.
Internal checks were extensively used but did not permit to locate the problem.
After months trying to solve this problem, I finally decided to stop this project. I'll be back one day so that the world record pi(x) computation with the pi(x) project will continue.
A new pi(x) project is born : the "pi(x) table project", which aims at computing a large collection of values of pi(x) for big values of x (not reacheable by classical sieve, values are between 1.e16 and 1.e17 in a first phasis).
As far of today, no study of this kind has been made. And why not, any contributor could find the first known change of sign of the function pi(x)-Li(x) !
Interesting conjectures and hypothesis related to the statistics of this
computation (like the Riemann hypothesis) are described in the prime numbers page on the numbers computation site (see http://numbers.computation.free.fr).

hi habs auch mal probiert jedoch was soll ich nun mit dem Textfile?? per e-mail versenden oder auf der homepage irgendwo eintragen?? auf der HP hab ich nähmlich nichts gefunden ??
