Google Compute im Wiki?

Sollten wir nicht auch Google Compute mit ins Wiki mit aufnehmen, der Vollständigkeit halber? Müsste das dann in die Kategorie DC Plattformen? Damit soll es doch möglich sein, an mehreren DC-Projekten teilzunehmen, auch wenn momentan nur Folding@home unterstützt wird. Nachteil ist, dass uns das keine Mitglieder ins Team bringt, da man automatisch ins Google-Team gesteckt wird und nicht wechseln kann.
Sonst hätte ich mir auch so 'ne Google Toolbar installiert, damit ich die Clientupdates nicht manuell machen muss.

Ich finde das gehört schon ins Wiki. Ziel ist es ja über DC zu informieren und mehr Leute für DC zu gewinnen und nicht unbedingt mehr Leute in unser Team zu locken, was natürlich ein schöner Nebeneffekt wäre .

Also wenn du Lust hast, kannst du gerne Google einstellen

Wenn ich auf Bearbeiten gehe, kann ich immer nur den ersten Satz verändern. Ferner sollte darauf hingewiesen werden, dass Google Compute zurzeit Folding@home unterstützt, weiß aber nicht wo man das im Wiki-Eintrag von Folding@home am besten macht.[/url]

Google compute supported FAH when it was at an early stage -- when FAH had ~10,000 active CPUs. At that time, a boost of 20,000 machines was very significant. Now, things are different. The FAH client is considerably more mature than it was 5 years ago and the project has a large number of active CPUs. The number of new clients joining Google compute was very low (most people opted for the FAH client instead) and so it didn't make sense to continue it. Indeed, the fraction of FAH clients through Google compute is relatively small. Also, the Google compute clients have certain hard limits (eg can only run the Tinker core and limited naming and team options). Due to all of these reasons, Google support has been minimal over the last few years and this is the natural conclusion of this.

While support from a company like Google is always good, the current formulation of Google compute doesn't quite make sense. We are considering alternate plans and proposals which might make more sense.

Finally, I should stress that this effects new toolbar clients. The old toolbar still works (to my understanding). Thus, there will be no new Google clients; however, there were very few new Google clients anyway. It's great that they have directed people to the FAH site and hopefully they will choose to run our client.

Ist es dann noch sinnvoll einen neiuen Eintrag zu schreiben und groß drauf hinzuweisen?
Oder ist das schon wieder überholt?
Ich habe nie damit zu tun gehabt, außer durch diesen Thread da im Forum, also vielleicht ist das ja auch nicht so "schlimm" wie ich das verstehe.

JA, man muss erst nen neuen Artikel erstellen. Wenn man da dann am Ende [[Kategorie:Plattform]] reinschreibt, taucht der automatisch unter Plattformen auf, die Seite wird automatisch generiert. Bei Fah kann man das einfach unterm Einführungstext erwähnen, oder man macht nen Punkt Interessantes, oder so....
