Maybe, but it says I aborted the unit, not the project. That is very annoying.

which I returned, it said on my BOINC Manager that it had been aborted by the project. However, I came here to look and see what the story was and here, it says aborted by user which is completely untrue.

When I restart the machine, I expect the task to restart from the last checkpoint. This, it did, and ran for perhaps two minutes, then crashed. You say it is not flaky, I beg to differ. The whole BOINC ethic is to be simple and transparent, fit it and forget it, NOT, every time I need to do something stupid with my machine because a printer won't work, I have to stop and have a serious think about what is going to happen if I do this. I had to reboot the machine, and what happens, the RNA job crashes, not the other tasks that were running, just the RNA, 2,382,817.05 seconds in to the job, "computation error", really disappointing. I'm sorry, but that indicates to me that the tasks are too fragile. Detatching from the project.

Okay, I understand. I say again, that despite a high quota value, my second machine here does not get a work unit to process.

I would have thought that to do this, you would need to be able to access the genomes, ie. that a VERY large database would need to be accessed. That is not extant on my computers, and I don't see a load of net I/O?
