OpenCl is a standard of the Khronos Group for the programming of uneven parallel computers, that is, computers that are equipped with other processors besides the CPU, such as graphics cards and digital signal processors. Using OpenCl provides a unified interface for these processors to use them.

Newer ATI and Nvidia graphics cards support OpenCl.

The ATI and Nvidia specific interfaces, on the other hand, are ATI Stream and CUDA.

These projects support OpenCL to perform calculations on graphics cards.
