Which project should be integrated next?
Which project should be integrated next?
Hello,
in some days ogr will be over. I would enjoy to start the discussion which project should be included next. If you also have some contacts to the authors of some projects, leave me a message. And of course if somebody is interested to help in the integration, contact me.
I also have some projects on my radar, but will not start the discussion with these . So discussion is reopend, give your suggestions.
Kind regards,
yoyo

Das OpenStreetMap Projekt läge mir doch sehr am Herzen.

I guess there will be another OGR http://n0cgi.distributed.net/cgi/dnet-f ... ser=bovineyoyo hat geschrieben:in some days ogr will be over. I would enjoy to start the discussion which project should be included next.
Why not crunch RC5 until the next OGR is up running? Finally, we would like to mention that we are currently finalizing a
next-generation OGR project that will further the exploration into
even higher-order Optimal Golomb Rulers. Stay tuned for more details
later.

Re: Which project should be integrated next?
Is there any use in solving RC5? With the redrawal of the price, RSA already admitted, that RC5 is not a save algorithm, so putting thousands of CPU-years into decrypting a sentence seems to me as a waste of power.Ungelovende hat geschrieben:I guess there will be another OGR http://n0cgi.distributed.net/cgi/dnet-f ... ser=bovineyoyo hat geschrieben:in some days ogr will be over. Re: Which project should be integrated next?
Hallo,

Re: Which project should be integrated next?
Ramsey@home is a good number theory project with an excellent project leader who has already integrated with BOINC, but now wants to concentrate on the science and not have to worry about the business of assigning credit.
The wrapper would be a good way to save this worthwhile project.

If it is already a boinc project, what would the wrapper be needed for?macro hat geschrieben:Ramsey@home is a good number theory project with an excellent project leader who has already integrated with BOINC, but now wants to concentrate on the science and not have to worry about the business of assigning credit.

Re: Which project should be integrated next?
Nick will not continue the project as I read. He will concentrate on the algorithm.laguna2 hat geschrieben:If it is already a boinc project, what would the wrapper be needed for?macro hat geschrieben:Ramsey@home is a good number theory project with an excellent project leader who has already integrated with BOINC, but now wants to concentrate on the science and not have to worry about the business of assigning credit.

But what about:
http://www.oddperfect.org/
which uses
http://www.loria.fr/~zimmerma/records/ecmnet.html
So integrating ecmnet would give the opportunity to run all projects which are using it to factorize big numbers.

Re: Which project should be integrated next?
I would also suggest OpenStreetMap - not only is it the project itself worthwhile, but it could also bring new people to boinc and distributed computing through advertising on their homepage.
The only question is: How hard will it be?
Edit: yeah 2^10 posts

Re: Which project should be integrated next?
Think it will be hard, it is a collection of a lot scripts and tools and giant memory requirements and giant up-/downloads.nico hat geschrieben:I would also suggest OpenStreetMap - not only is it the project itself worthwhile, but it could also bring new people to boinc and distributed computing through advertising on their homepage.

Re: Which project should be integrated next?
Hello,
I got the following PM on the yoyo@home server because of troubles with the forum. Does somebody knows this project and write something about it?

yoyoI wanted to put this in the forum, but I couldn't read the buttons for reply and such.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know about http://www.darwinathome.org/intelligentdesign/. The concept is really neat. The author has basically abandoned the project and is looking for someone else to take it over. I have always wanted to do something like this in boinc, but never had the programming knowledge it requires to do it all.
Good luck on your project.
