I am getting "Computation error" on all tasks I am running
I have had a look at all the posts on
http://www.rechenkraft.net/forum/viewto ... 83&t=12922
but they're in Deutsch and I can't read that language.
I have been able to Download about 60 tasks, and they show as "Running" for a short period (2 seconds - 17 seconds), but then go to "Computation error".
MK902IILE (Xubuntu)
Processor:
user@RIKOMAGIC:~$ grep "model name" /proc/cpuinfo
model name : ARMv7 Processor rev 1 (v7l)
model name : ARMv7 Processor rev 1 (v7l)
model name : ARMv7 Processor rev 1 (v7l)
model name : ARMv7 Processor rev 1 (v7l)
As far as I know, the CPU is known as RK3288.

Which hostId has your computer in the project?

Re: I am getting "Computation error" on all tasks I am runni
The identical hardware of this other computer of mine (but using Android operating system) has no problems, but I would really like to get BOINC working on Xubuntu.
I haven't been able to find any information about the type of errors, for example on the results page or its subpages.

@yoyo Was that information about the computers any use?
Re: I am getting "Computation error" on all tasks I am runni
Basically I do not see a reason why the tasks crashes.

Re: I am getting "Computation error" on all tasks I am runni
Hmm.
I haven't looked into it yet, but I came across Eltechs Exagear Desktop (via this Rikomagic MK forum thread) yesterday.
Something like that might make BOINC, Dropbox, and VirtualBox start working on ARM (non-Android).
Possibly.
I hope.

Re: I am getting "Computation error" on all tasks I am runni
I installed Eltechs Exagear Desktop yesterday. The installation process went OK, but it seems the service didn't start as it was supposed to. I'm in the process of sorting that out now (via Eltechs's thus-far responsive support). Once I get it working, I'll install the i386 and i686 applications.

Re: I am getting "Computation error" on all tasks I am runni
I wasn't able to use sudo inside the shell:
Then, I spent a day or two trying to resolve this issue so that I would be able to get BOINC running on the device. In the end, the solution was to enter su in the host system (Xubuntu) before starting exagear:
I then exited su and exited the exagear shell.
Then, critically, I:
1. Entered su again in the host system (Xubuntu)
2. Started exagear
3. Started boincmgr (I did all this in order to make sure that I was running boincmgr inside the exagear shell)
4. Added my projects
5. Checked that tasks downloaded and seemed to start OK. They did.
I started the first tasks 22 hours ago. They still have some time left to run. I won't know for sure that it's all successful until these first tasks have been completed and uploaded. It's looking good though.
Note: One of my projects is vLHCathome. I tried to install VirtualBox in the guest system exagear using. The installation process started and ran, but I'm not sure if it was successful or not. I'll leave BOINC to run now, and just keep an eye on whether any vLHCathome tasks ever start running.
Code: Alles auswählen
user@RIKOMAGIC:~$ sudo apt-get update
ExaGear itself does not support running SUID or SGID binaries,
they must be started using the binfmt_misc wrapper.
Please see the user manual for the details.
Code: Alles auswählen
user@RIKOMAGIC:~$ sudo su
[sudo] password for user:
root@RIKOMAGIC:/home/user# exagear

root@RIKOMAGIC:~# apt-get update
root@RIKOMAGIC:~# apt-get install boinc
