But what is the best smartphone to use for these projects, the number crunching and the seti@home project?
Thank you in advance

Re: forgive me for I do not know
There is no ARM application for RNA, have a look:

For SETI ... yes there are (v7/v8).

You should (alway) first check the available platform and supported CPU in the description of every projects you want to support.
To get a smartphone for ARM DC projects is IMO not a good idea, use that you have, for stand alone crunchers there are a lot of cheap quad core android (tv) boxes or ODROIDs without display on the market, you configure once and let them run until ... the conditions change. Then switch to the next project, as a suggestion.
See forum Mobiles Verteiltes Rechnen & ARM-Systeme for hardware questions or rather mobile distributed computing.
For some people the fastest CPU is the best, for others the most efficient. The most performance you get with highest investment, for the same money you can get multiple multicore androids with more calculating power, but higher power consumption, it´s a calculation over different, sometimes contradictorily criteria. A slow hardware can be attractive if you run it continuous.
If you are looking for the best smartphone in the world to trump others ... I can´t help.
P.S. b-u-y is a spammer word?
