Da sollte jetzt keine weitere verschickt werden.
Generell werden jetzt keine neuen _R_ WUs erzeugt. Es laufen aber noch einige.
Wir arbeiten an einer neuen App, die dann ab 36 Nodes laufen soll und bei der die WUs besser abgebrochen werden. Damit werde ich dann auch die verbleibenden _R_ verschicken.
Dauert aber alles noch ein wenig. Daher habe ich auch die 36 Node WUs aus der Queue genommen.

As you can see one's been going for >146 hours. Leave them run or abort?

The first one you should abort. It will most probably not finish in the maximum allowed time.
For the second one your wingman finished it after 16h. So I wonder why it runs so long on your system. So continue this one. How is the real progress in Boincmanger for it?
Can you also send the checkpoint file for it?

The ...705_1 is the one we share, it stopped on my box after 7 days with max. CPU time exceeded.

I placed a hardlink* on the chpt.txt file so it survived the crash. Maybe Yoyo can use it to set up another run.

Our ckpt.txt files will not be identical as the max. CPU time error depends on the parameter rsc_fpops_bound, the actual runtime and the benchmark results (which varies from host to host and between BOINC versions). They should lead to the same final result if there is another run though.

Let's see what Yoyo thinks about it. (While I'm writing this, Yoyo replied already)


*On NTFS you can set hardlinks with the DOS version of the GNU ln command or with Eugene Roshal's FAR. If you want to try that, a good place to link to would be the "slots" subdirectory itself, linking it within the slot number directory will not help as this will be purged when the crash happens.

i7-2600K (even with hyperthreading one of the fastest CPUs around) vs. T5500 (an energy efficient mobile CPU that probably even clocks down while on battery)

Unpaused it, BM says 0%, BT says 41%. The wingman is running a 3.4GHz i7, mine is a lowly 1.66.GHz core duo laptop


Edit: finished in 37:27, so it took 2.4 times as long on the 1.66GHz core 2 as on the 3.4GHz i7.

Ananas, thanks for the heads up on this WU problem. The T5500 is running Rightmark CPU so it never clocks down. It's just a lot slower than the wingman

habe zwei WU's die schon länger laufen.

Beide stehen auf 0% und sind in verbleibend schon abgelaufen.

Für die erste haben deine Wingmanns zwischen 30 und 108 Stunden gebraucht, für die zweite wurde schon bei 2 wegen maximaler Laufzeit beendet, aber einer hat sie nach 143h beendet.

also lasse ich die Wu's erst einmal so weite laufen.

Weil über 50 Stunden Rechenzeit wollte ich so ohne Punkte nicht abbrechen.
