Folding mit "langsamen" Nvidia Grafikkarten: max-packet-size

#1 Ungelesener Beitrag von X1900AIW » 04.02.2015 18:25

Aus dem Folding Forum vom 03.02.2015, von bruce:
  • "There has been a change that some of you may want to take advantage of. If you have a "slow" NVidia GPU that's still officially supported, you may add the option max-packet-size=small to your GPU slot and re-enable it. That option SHOULD limit your assignments to FahCore_15 projects. You won't be assigned the big projects which use FahCore_17-18.

GPU deadlines for Core_15 projects tend to be less restrictive that Cores 17-18. Core_15 does not offer bonus points (which may be a strategic advantage for the slow GPUs since all the points are incorporated into the baseline points).

For systems with integrated GPUs (including laptops) you might or might not benefit from folding with that GPU as long as CUDA is supported. (...)"
