ogr and gpu's

#1 Ungelesener Beitrag von merle van osdol » 25.10.2013 14:04

sorry, but this is my first day with yoyo and I am kind of lost in this message setup.
my crunching is using my 8 cpu cores but no gpu. Since ogr is an integer type problem,
why doesn't yoyo use my hd6570 gpu? Also this is a new box I put together and right
now I only have 3GB of main memory. How soon do I need to put in more? Again I
apologize for being naïve but so it is.

Hi and welcome here!
It is not possible up to now to port the ogr application to gpu. The source code is available at distributed.net and everybody is invited to port it to gpu ;)
If you run only ogr, than your memory should be sufficient.
You will see a message in Boinc if you don't have sufficient memory. E.g. the ECM tasks sometimes require 1.8GB RAM.
